Verizon Phone Service

Before I signed up with Time Warner for my current phone, cable, and Internet service, I had Verizon phone service. Things started out great with Verizon, but I soon found that they put up a great image but where very lacking in customer service. Though I have had worse service than I have had with Verizon, they are definitely on the bottom of my list of favorite companies. I have never had these types of problems with other utilities, and I can’t understand why the phone companies are so bad with their customers.

My Verizon phone service started out well enough. The service was good, and when I had problems with my DSL service I could always count on quick and effective help via their technical helpline. After a few months, however, I began to notice problems with my bill, and it was next to impossible to get it fixed, even when they said they knew the bill was wrong. The Verizon phone service was still reliable though, so I didn’t think that meant I needed to think about switching to someone else.

When a member of my family got sick, I had to leave my home for a week. Though I do know this was something that was unavoidable, I should have made better preparations. My payment for my Verizon phone service was late by three days. They gave us a call, and left a message. When I got home, they informed me that I had a week to pay or they would shut me off.  I knew that it was my fault that I forgot to pay my bill for my Verizon phone service, but that seemed excessively harsh to me.

A few months later, I was late with my payment for my Verizon phone service again. This was again my fault, but they didn’t even give me a day before they were calling. I could not believe it. I know you should pay your bills on time, but I thought this was a little much. Within three days my Verizon phone service was shut off on me, and I had to pay twenty six dollars per service (there were three services, according to them) on top of my bill to get things back on. Needless to say, I went with someone else a month later. I know they want their money and I should pay my bills on time, but that was just beyond my comprehension.
